A child of the cosmos you find yourself full of light.

A child of God you find yourself full of light.

Yet where does it hide, or where have you hidden it?

Where is the basket you've covered it with?

Find it friend! It is surely somewhere!

Look under the couch and in all the closets.

Was it left outside or in the car or in a pocket?

This is the pearl. This is the coin. This is the kingdom.

Listen! The land of peace is singing. It is the land itself.

Do you remember in the book they listened to the earth?

As they listened they discovered mother too had a heartbeat.

Listen to the land's heartbeat. Listen to your heartbeat.

Your heartbeat was first connected here. Remember your core.

Remember you had music with the earth before you had music

with her or her or him or them.

Find your light. Find your song. Find your love.

When you find yourself, perhaps for the first time

you may learn to share yourself well.

Find your heartbeat and listen, really listen.

Learn, also, to feel it without your hand.

Learn to smell and taste the iron and oxygen.

What do you see? Who do you see?

When you look in the mirror remember you have life.

Discover again the joy dwelling deep.

A poem is a message of hope, most often.

A poem is always in your being.

Did you know the stars made you poetry

before you knew your first words?

Did you know that there are galaxies in you.

You've been told the center holds a black hole,

but you know the most magnetic force already.

It is not gravity that spirals you into being;

it is love that creates the revolutions within.

Find yourself again. Hug yourself again,

and interlock your fingers like you did when you were young.

Then with bravery step forward to address the pain of loss.

Then with bravery step forward to love generously again.

Then with bravery step forward to sing a love song.

Then with bravery find yourself in the web and smile

as you discover all the other selves around you.
