Great Risk

a poem by CA Craig

My feet sink deeper

while standing on the shore,

the waves rolling over,

the sand slowly rising up my body.

It feels so playful, tickling.

Yet there is no fear

of being consumed

of becoming trapped.

I wish I could

dabble in love

as easily as I play

with the sea,

but with such great feeling

comes such great risk

and in these waters

I just might drown.
