Here's a poem:

Keep Your Distance

by CA Craig

I think part of the exploratory phase of art

and destiny is exploring the charts handed down

generation to generation, grandmother to grandson

a heart to heart is exchanged in the passing on

of traditions and ancestral stories.

So where is our alignment? Do we find it

in between the lines, sitting waiting to

be recognized for our achievements and dreams?

Are we fine with the fact that an

unknown name might be our claim as we

end up in a box covered with stain remover

and bleach to make us look and smell

like a freshly cleaned bathroom?

Well, I won’t be there, in my letter

in your care, I have expressed what is

to be done with my earthly remains.

Burn it. Burn it all. And when

there are ashes, burn the hell out of

that too. My ghost has departed.

Maybe my art isn’t in the creation

or the exploration or reanimation,

But perhaps it is in the leaving behind.

Follow my tracks.

But keep your distance.

I bite.
