Here's a poem:

My Love

by Cody Craig, 2021

I need to know

that if I go

that you know

the sound of me.

That my voice might be familiar.

Would you know

my tones, inflections?

Would you know

my voice quickens when I feel

much more excited?

Would you know

how much I stumble

over all my words

when I think

that I am being funny?

I need you to know

how my voice sounds

when I look at you

and say

“You are my love.”

Perhaps your mind

may not hold it,

memories may not be concrete.

So here’s my voice,

here is my voice,

please, please, please, please,

remember it.

If the mighty stars

gave me song

it was to sing

“You are my love.”
