I am so tired

of listening to falling in love songs

only to find myself 

listening to falling out of love songs.

I’m tired of cough syrup.

Your first taste is honey.

Your aftertaste is repulsive.

But your presence will lull me to sleep

regardless of what little wisdom tells me to do.
